Vic: Worker fined for attacking apprentice

A Melbourne glazier has been fined $2,500 for biting, punching and suspending an apprenticefrom a crane.

BRADLEY KENNETH LANE of St Albans pleaded guilty yesterday to placing the health andsafety of the trainee at risk.

26-year-old LANE was also ordered to pay $7,000 costs.

Sunshine magistrate NOREEN TOOHEY was told LANE'S boss warned him not to bully theapprentice before the teenager started work in June 1999 at the Hills and Mason shop fittingfactory in Sunshine in Melbourne's west.
