Solve Our Beds Crisis

Bosses at Westonsuper-Mare's General Hospital are urging healthchiefs to come up with a solution to the beds crisis.

They claim clinical standards are being jeopardised because ofincreasing pressure on resources at the hospital.

The hospital says another 65 beds are needed to cope with thecurrent flow of patients.

Dr John Post, the chairman of the Weston Area Health Trust (WAHT),says the pressure for beds at the Grange Road hospital has now becomean urgent priority.

Writing to Jane Corke, chairman of the North Somerset Primary CareTrust (PCT), Dr Post pressed the trust to come up with proposals fordealing with the problem.
